Merry Christmas...

Hello,

I've been totally rubbish with my blog lately, I had all of my coursework to finish and then since i've broken up for Christmas I just haven't found the time! I will rectify this after Christmas!

Anyway I just wanted to say Happy Christmas to all those who celebrate it! I will post some NOTD's in a couple of days :D

Bye for now x

Developed film...

Hello all!

Sorry for the slight gap in blog posts. It is my 2nd to last week of uni and as such I have ALOT of coursework. However I did promise that I would post some pictures from my first ever 35mm film, so here are a selection of my favourites!

I hope you like them :)

I will do a NOTD soon and I will definitely aim to blog more as soon as all of my coursework is handed in!

Bye for now! :)

NOTD: Paw-fect Purple..... OPI Rumples Wiggin

So as promised here is my NOTD. The base coat is OPI Rumples Wiggin which is from their Shrek collection. I absolutely love this purple, it's a perfect pastel without being too pale. I had it plain for a few days so decided to stamp it with my Konad plate. I used plate M10 which is super cute and has a couple of dogs, paw prints and some random sponge shaped superheros. I used Rimmel Strawberry Fizz which smells of strawberries!!!!

I absolutely love my nails and I got loads of compliments on them!

I hope you like them!

Bye for now :)

Retro Photography...

So a month or so ago my dad very kindly gave me his old Olympus OM10 SLR camera, it's retro as it obviously takes film. I proceeded to spend quite a lot of money on flashes/lenses and went snapping away with a black and white film.

I sent the film away a couple of weeks ago to fujifilm to be developed. They unfortunately had a problem with their developing machines so it took a bit longer than usual but i've been really impressed with their customer service! They sent me an email to let me know it was dispatched today so hopefully I should receive my prints back tomorrow or Friday.

I don't have high hopes as it's my first ever film with manuel focussing etc. but I will definitely post some pictures once I get them!

So anyone else jumping on the retro bandwagon?? I want to get a Diana Lomography camera next!

I have also just painted my nails and stamped them with a super cool Konad plate so look forward to a NOTD soon!

Bye for now! :)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1: Review.

Well, I went to watch the first part of the last Harry Potter last night. It was absolutely brilliant!! I am the first to criticise when it comes to Harry Potter, I notice all the little changes from the books and it does usually annoy me. However although there were some significant changes, the majority of the film was true to the book, and I think this was probably helped by the face they've been able to split it up.

It ended in a good place, although an annoying cliffhanger but I suppose that's to be expected! The only annoying thing now is that we have to wait until July for the next installment. In my opinion this is a ridiculously long time and is not necessary at all. I think if the next installment came out in March/April that would be an acceptable wait, not 8 months away.

Anyway I digress, overall I thought this was the best film of the series, and hopefully it can only get better. Especially as the second half of the book is more action packed. If you are a sort of Harry Potter fan and not a huge geek like me I would definitely recommend the film, it's a good Harry Potter film and if you've enjoyed the other ones, you'll enjoy this one!

Anyway I've got a few NOTD's coming up soon!

Bye for now! :)

Harry Potter...

So hands up who else is excited about the first part of the final installment this Friday?? I for one am EXTREMELY excited. I am a huge Potter head, and probably know the story inside out. I've started reading the last book for the 5th time just to keep myself up to date. I am still disappointed that they are splitting the film up, I think splitting it up is fine but keeping the films nearly 8 months apart is just ridiculous. Everyone knows they have filmed the whole film and it would be nice to watch it a bit sooner than 8 months away.

Anyway enough of that. I am super excited, I've had my tickets for about three weeks now and I am literally counting down the hours until Friday. I will post an updated report once I have watched the film.

Just to keep you going until then... Potter Puppet Pals!!

Bye for now!

Keeping a Journal?

So how many of us keep a journal now? A proper old fashioned, written journal? I know I definitely don't, I've always wanted to keep a proper diary, since I could remember and I've always been rubbish and never knew what to write, or just forgot all together! However I have now decided I want to document my life, especially as it's my final year at uni, I think it will be a nice thing to look back on in a few years.

I'm going to get that fab new Moleskine notebook with Snoopy on the front! If anything is going to make me keep a diary that will! I also intend to get Wreck this Journal in the hope that if I ever forgot to write something down that will jog my creativity!

I'm going to start it now but it's sort of an early New Years resolution! So hopefully some people may start a diary, I think having some things in a real hard copy rather than just on the computer is quite a nice thing to do!

Bye for now!

Hello again!! And a NOTD!

Hello everyone!

I keep starting my blog with the intention of keeping it up and then life gets in the way and I totally forget about it! I do fully intend to keep it going this time but lets just start one post at a time!

Anyway I am now in my final year of my degree so totally snowed under but I feel quite positive about everything, it's nice to have the end in sight, plus once I'm finished I'm off to Orlando which is even better!!

In the past few months I've become quite obsessed with nail colours, i've acquired loads of different ones so I think i'll be doing a few NOTD as the months go on! So for my first one it is the turn of OPI Sparkle-licious.

It's a beautiful shade, I did find that it needed a base coat so I used Topshop Big Smoke, which is a mink colour. I decided to apply three coats, I don't think it needed three coats but I wanted the extra glitter, and I LOVE it!! It's very easy to apply, looks absolutely fabulous and has so far lasted really well, I would totally recommend it!

So this is a short and sweet first post back, but I fully intend to add more as the weeks go on, with a bit of this and that!

Bye for now!

Cupcakes

Hello,

I'm not sure who reads my blog but I've been a bit absent. It's a totally hectic semester at Uni, but the end is SO close. I have one exam left and then it's summer!! Talking of Summer and I planning to bake (And eat) loads of cupcakes, which of course I will document.

But whilst we are waiting for my (hopefully) amazing cupcakes, here are some amazing websites everyone should have a look at.

First of all my most favourite website EVER http://www.bakerella.com/ what more do you need that Winnie The Pooh cake pops!!

Secondly the best website for cake decoration. Unfortunately I can't find the same kind of things in the UK. http://www.bakeitpretty.com/

And finally for some fab looking cupcakes http://mingmakescupcakes.yolasite.com/

I hope those are enough to keep you going for now. I will definitely be back soon and will update with some clothes updates and cupcakes pictures!

Beautiful Dress!

Right! I've had a bit of a break, sorry about that, the first week back at uni has been super hectic!! Anyway I have a careers day at a law firm on Monday and clever old me I managed to leave all my super smart clothes at home as I didn't think i'd need them this semester! But anyway this was a good excuse to go shopping! Unfortunately Oxford didn't actually have anything suitable or within my price range so I fell back on the internet and i've just taken delivery of this beautiful number today! It fits lovely on, really nips in at the waist and the colour is just amazing, it's not too purple but it's a change from a boring black dress! And the best bit about it, it has pockets!!!!!! I love dresses that have pockets! I'm going to accessorize it with some tights with little hearts on also from Topshop and my beautiful Paris belt from asos! I'll post a pic when i've actually got it on, but I wanted to share the loveliness of the dress straight away!

Catch up...

Hello!

I've been a bit absent for a few days as i've had so much on! I'm back at uni and i've got loads of coursework due in and lots of new lectures to start so it's been a bit hectic! I also have my many job applications to finish off!

Anyway my Cath Kidston finally arrived, rather annoyingly an hour after I left to go back to uni, luckily my parents bought it up today. I'm a little disappointed, the bag is a lot smaller than I thought, I did enquire to the dimensions when I rang up but it's still a lot smaller, it definitely won't fit anything in for uni and it's a bit expensive to just keep for a handbag so i'm thinking of sending it back. I've found a brilliant website that sells lovely leather satchels though so i'll let you know if I do decide to get the leather satchel!

We had a bit of snow yesterday but thankfully it didn't settle and has all melted today, i'm hoping it stays that way as I really really cannot be bothered with the snow again, especially having to walk to uni in it!

I'm on the search for some new make up at the moment so there may be a make up related post coming soon.......

Harry Potter, Harry Harry Potter......

Well for anyone who doesn't know me well I am a HUGE Harry Potter geek, I know everything there is to know about the books, and have all of the special editions etc. it's ridiculous! So of course I am RIDICULOUSLY excited about the Harry Potter land they are opening in Florida this Spring! This blog has posted some brilliant photos of the park as it looks at the moment, Hogwarts looks incredibly, a lot bigger than I imagined, I cannot wait to go, it probably will not be until 2011, but hopefully this will make it even better as they will have had time to iron out any problems by then! For more info see the official website!!

Anyway that's it from me today, unfortunately not a lot has happened this weekend in order to update, however it's exam results tomorrow so hopefully they'll go ok!

Weekend Baking

Well as it's the weekend I decided to do some baking, I found a lovely cookie recipe so thought i'd try it out. After a quick trip to Sainsburys to get chocolate chips I set about making them! The recipe was very easy to follow and they looked amazing when they came out of the oven, they tasted just as good as they looked, I ate three in one go! So I would definitely recommend this recipe!

I'm watching Little Women now, I absolutely love this film, I have a bit of a love for Christian Bale, and it's nice to see him playing a nice calm role for a change!!

Beautiful things...

Well Cath Kidston was very naughty this week as it decided to launch it's new spring/summer range which is lovely! There are some fab new prints and best of all they have launched a blackberry phone case!!!! Now of course I couldn't resist, instead of a boring black case I am now the envy (hopefully) of everyone with a beautiful bath flowers blackberry case unfortunately whilst looking for the case I also happened to stumble onto their bag section and accidentally ordered a mini saddle bag I should be the proud owner of the bag in a few days, so I shall update then with how beautiful it is, until then here's a picture!

Other than the joys of Cath Kidston I unfortunately don't have anything else to report, my life at the moment is full of Land law woes and applications for summer placements, both of which are immensely boring and I keep procrastinating and finding things to do, hence the buying of bags and blackberry cases!

On another note my friend's birthday present showed up from America and it is AMAZING!! She is a bit in love with ladybugs and this lovely lady had some great ladybug charms! They arrived today and they are the cutest thing ever, I can't wait to give it to her! And for all of you who haven't yet visited etsy please give it a try, most of the things are handmade etc. and there are some amazing things on there, it can unfortunately get a bit addictive but you are bound to get something unique that no-one else will own! I have an etsy shop but haven't managed to make anything for a while so i'll update when I do!

Right back to the applications......

A lovely weekend..

Well I had a somewhat spontaneous weekend, Saturday was spent trying to do my essay plan for my Land law essay which didn't go amazingly well. However Sunday morning was the start of an exciting weekend! My lovely boyfriend arranged for us to go to the Christchurch Harbour Hotel for the weekend.

After a quick stop to get petrol we were on our way to Dorset, we had lovely weather down in Somerset this weekend so it was a really nice drive up there and for once I wasn't driving which is a nice change! The hotel is absolutely amazing, we only had a "bronze" room but it was incredible, the bed was amazing with a beautiful view of the sea. Our deal included unlimited use of the spa and a three course dinner. The spa was a lovely relaxing way to spend Sunday afternoon and the three course dinner was just amazing, with the finale being the best pudding ever, a chocolate and banana cigar!

Today we both had some spa treatments, I had an amazing facial, my first ever, and it was so amazing it made an hour feel like 10 minutes and I nearly fell asleep, I just wish I was rich enough to have a regular facial. We'll definitely be going back to the hotel, all of the staff were very attentive and friendly and it was just a really lovely, relaxing break!

However now we are back to the real world I really have to make a start with my coursework as it's only two weeks until the hand in date, I also need to finish applications for vacation schemes, so my word head is firmly screwed on, but it was nice to get a relaxing start to the long months ahead!

Snow snow go away....

Well for the past week and a bit we've had SNOW in the UK, you know that white fluffy stuff, and of course this has bought pretty much the whole country to a stand still! Now I understand that we do not get snow often and as such we are not prepared for it, but I still have to admit it's a bit ridiculous that everyone just starts to panic. All the bread and milk in my local shops were sold out and every single news item seemed to be on snow!

Thankfully it has been getting warmer and warmer for the past few days and my car told me that it was 12 degrees today!!! Positively tropical, and we actually had rain last night!! (I think the first time ever i've been thankful to see rain!) so we now have no white stuff left at all!

However it wasn't all bad, I made a pretty decent (if small) snowman called Derek! Here's some photographic evidence as he unfortunately doesn't exist anymore :(

Hello

Hello,

I'm new to the whole blogging movement but as it seems so popular now I thought i'd jump on the bandwagon!

I haven't fully decided the purpose of this blog yet, the majority of it will probably be about clothes as my favorite past time is most definitely shopping! Then this will be mixed in with some cute recipes, my thoughts on current affairs and anything else I find that I think other people should know about!

Anyway if anyone reads this Thank you, and if you think it's rubbish well thanks for checking it out anyway!

Lucy.
